Lotus

The symbol of the lotus flower is to bring beauty and light from the murky darkness at the bottom of the pond, for the Lotus flower grows from mud and blossoms as a beautiful, clean flower. 

To parallel one's life, it is to inspire people to continue striving through difficulties and to show their best part to the outside world, no matter how bad the circumstances may be. 

I have been wearing a Lotus flower necklace by Dogeared since July.  Dogeared has a collection of necklaces on string.  You make a wish, wear the necklace, and when the string breaks your wish is said to come true...  My necklace broke after 6 months!  I was starting to worry that I would be the first person to wear a string necklace for a lifetime without breaking!
